Attended the interview for Prime Minister's Book Prize today.
Not too good, but not that bad either. It wasn't as demanding as the scholarships interviews since the interviewers weren't looking out for content. Their main aim was to see whether candidates could converse fluently in both English and Mandarin. So it was like a chit-chat session actually.
One of the interviewer commented that my ability to converse in Chinese far exceeded that of English. Haha maybe he meant that my English was lousy, or to look at it positively, my Mandarin was good. I bet it's more of the former though -.-
Heard from Cindy that out of the 10 students DHS nominated, only 2 got shortlisted by MOE to attend the interview. So she thinks that the interview is only a formality. I do hope this is the case, or else I will feel so sorry and guilty for losing 50% of DHS's chance in the awardees' list )=
There were so many candidates from RJC and Hwa Chong la. I think that DHS students are definitely as good as, if not better, than students from other institutions in terms of bilingualism. Seriously don't understand how come there's such a big difference in the number of students shortlisted.
